The Lithuanian men’s basketball team held its first practice on Tuesday evening before the upcoming EuroBasket 2022 qualifiers games against the Czech and Danish national teams.
Betsafe, basketball experts single out Lithuania as a clear favorite in the game against Denmark and give as much as 93 percent chance to win. This probability is gratifying, because it is the match with Denmark that will determine whether Lithuanians will qualify for the European Championship.
“There can‘t be any discussion about our team‘s motivation, we simply have to finish the job that we did not finish in the previous qualifiers window in November. Everybody understands what is at stake, we just have no room for any mistakes, we have to do our job that is expected from us. From the very first day everyone seems very concentrated and I have no complaints to anybody from the team.
I don‘t know what additional motivation anybody could need, when you haven‘t fulfiled your job. Gabriel Lundberg is very skilful player, who has done a lot of damage for us last time we played Denmark. His absence is a strong factor for Danish team, they don‘t have anybody alike to replace him. Nonetheless, we must win against them no matter who is one their roster. We understand it, but we try not to focus on it, nor discuss it. We simply have to do what is expected from us to be done”, – D. Maskoliūnas shared his thoughts
