The Lithuanian youth (U19) team continues its preparations for the world cup. Lithuanian national team defeated Latvia’s 19-year-old for the second time in a friendly game in Kėdainiai, with the result of 79:67 (20:9, 24:20, 17:18, 18:20).
This time, the Lithuanians were represented by the team captain Augustas Marčiulionis, who recently joined his peers who started preparation a little earlier.
Among the Lithuanians, the above-mentioned A. Marčiulionis and Jokūbas Rubinas were the most productive, scoring 10 points each, Edgaras Preibys added 9 points, Radvilas Kneižys and Rokas Jocius scored 8 points each, and 7 points added Ąžuolas Tubelis. All twelve players registered for the match scored points.
For Latvia Fred Paul Bagatski scored a game high 24 points, Noa Williamson added 9 points, and 8 points were scored by Kristian Schulz and Rhodia Macoha.
Lithuanians started the game with a 10:0 run and kept a safe difference between the team through out the whole game.
This was already the second game between these two team in the last three days. On the June 13th Lithuanians also won the game with the final result – 76:64.
The Lithuanian national team is preparing for the world cup, which will take place on July 3-11 in Latvia, Daugavpils and Riga. The Lithuanian national team will start the tournament in Group A together with the national teams of Canada, Japan and Senegal.
