Lithuania gets past South Korea with a blowout win

The Lithuanian national team has made it to playoff stage in the Olympic Qualifying Tournament.

Lithuanians sealed the deal on Thursday with the final score 96:57 (28:16, 21:18, 27: 9, 20:14) and secured first place in the group stage.

Jonas Valančiūnas recorde a doble-double once again and led the team to the victory. He scored 15 points, got 13 rebounds in just 17 minutes. Center, Guna Ra led the Korean on the score sheet with 26 points.

The game saw some special guests in the arena today. Together with LKF Secretary General Mindaugas Špokas and LKF Sports Director Ramūnas Butautas, Andreas Zaklis, FIBA ​​Secretary General was present in the stands.

In the semi-final, that will take place on Saturday (July 3rd), Lithuanians will play against the national team of Poland. In the second semi-finals game Slovenia will play against Venezuela.

Lithuanians had a slight advantage at the start of the game – 10:8. However, when Rokas Jokubaitis was subbed in team started to run away and after the first ten minutes Lithuanians were in front – 28:16. After the second quarter, the difference remained similar at 49:34.

After the half time, Lithuanians came out with bigger energy and started to increase their lead. Team finished the third quarter with the score 69 to 41. In the last ten minutes, Lithuanians played very relaxed game and sealed the win with the final score – 96:57.
