The European Women’s Basketball Championship qualifiers has come to be a disaster. In the Group E game, Mantas Šernius’ team 55:67 (9:19, 20:14, 7:21, 19:13) lost to the Turkey national team and lost all the chances to qualify for the main tournament.
The Lithuanians have started the game with a point draught – 0:10. After playing for four minutes, Justė Jocytė has scored first points for for the team. Justė Jocytė found a rhythm with playing Gintare Petronyte and brought the energy up for the Lithuanians. After the first quarter, home team remained up with the double digit lead – 9:19.
To start the second quarter Labuckienė scored four points in a row, while Nacickaitė added a 3-pointer (16:21). Gintarė Petronytė made another basket in the paint and opponent’s head coach called for a time-out (18:21). The Lithuanians kept the intensity up and halfway through the quarter result was equal (24:24). At the end of the quarter, the opponents had a better run and closed the half with only four-point advantage – 29:33.

Turkey’s national has started the third quarter strong and managed to regain a double-digit advantage once again (33:45) and had a solid 18 point lead after 30 minutes of play.
In the fourth quarter, the head coach of the Turkish national team was ejected from the game for his second technical foul, but the Lithuanians only reduced the deficit by a little and lost with the result 55:67.
