Lithuanian national team has started the Olympic Qualifier Tournament (OQT) with a victory over Venezuela. With lower pandemic restrictions in the country, national team has had a chance to play in the arena with a number of fans once again.
Today, those who want to come to Kaunas and support Lithuanians in the arena received good news – from Thursday (July 1st), spectators who bought tickets to the Olympic Qualifying Tournament will no longer need a national certificate to enter the arena.
Nonetheless, fans in the „Žalgiris” arena will still need to wear a protective face masks. National team sponsor Betsafe will give more than 40,000 protective face masks decorated in tricolor colors.
“We are glad that the fans now have practically no obstacles to come to the arena, because the sixth player is really important. Now we are waiting for even more support”, – Mindaugas Kuzminskas shared his thoughts about the news.
The second game will be played against South Korea – on the 1st of July at 19:30. Tickets can be purchased on the ticket distributor platform bilietai.lt. Important to note, that ticket is valid for the whole day and fans can even attend earlier game that day – Slovenia vs Poland.
In case of a victory, the Lithuanian national team would secure the first place in the group and travel to the qualifying semifinals, which would be played on Saturday (July 3rd). The decisive game, which will determine the fate of the ticket to the Tokyo Olympics, will be played on Sunday (July 4th) at 19:30 o’clock.
