The Lithuanian men’s basketball team will have its second friendly game in the Žalgiris arena this evening as part of the preparation cycle for the Olympic qualifying stage. Game is scheduled for 22nd of July, 19:30 o’clock.
The captain of the national team, Mantas Kalnietis will make his return after five-week injury lay-off.
„Naturally, after a month and a half without running, exercising and proper competitive basketball, it is not easy to get back in shape, but I am glad that my ankle is getting better and I feel better every day. Recovery process is slow and not very pleasant, but there is no other way to get back in shape, you just have to go through it”, – said Mantas Kalnietis.
Coaches made a decision to sit out Arnas Butkevičius and Regimantas Miniotas for today’s game.
In the first game against the Dominican Republic, Arnas Butkevičius logged 17 minutes on the court. He did not managed to score but had 2 rebounds and 1 assist.
Regimantas Miniotas logged more than 11 minutes on the court. He scored 9 points and had 2 rebounds and 2 assists.
