On Monday, the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) announced the schedule for the upcoming Olympic basketball tournament. It also includes the times for Lithuanian national team, if they qualify.
Lithuanians would play the first match on the 26th of July at 06:40 (Monday) Lithuanian time against Argentina. On the 29th of July, also at 6:40 in the morning Lithuanians could play the host of the tournament – Japan.
The consolation prize is on the August 1 (Sunday) match against the reigning world champion Spain. The start of the game is set for 10:20 Lithuanian time.
The semi-finals will take place on August 5th. (Thursday) 6:15 in the morning and 13:00 o’clock Lithuanian time.
The final combats will take place on Saturday, August 7th. It is worth noting that the Olympic final is scheduled before the game for 3rd place. The Golden Battle will begin at 4:30 in the morning, and the bronze game will start as early as 13:00 o’clock.
The Lithuanian national team will have to win the Olympic qualifying tournament in order to be in Tokyo. Lithuanians will try to surpass the national teams of Slovenia, Poland, Venezuela, South Korea and Angola from June 29 to July 4.
